What we cover

Full off-grid systems.
From diagnosis to upgrade.

Lithium upgrades

AGM/lead-acid to LiFePO4 conversions. Battery sizing, BMS configuration, charger reprogramming, and system commissioning.

Solar systems

Roof-mount and portable solar systems sized to your camping style. MPPT controllers, proper cabling, output testing.

12V diagnostics

Faulty lights, dead circuits, mystery drains, parasitic loads โ€” methodical diagnosis to find faults the previous repairer missed.

Inverter installs

Pure sine wave inverters from 600W to 3000W. Sized for your loads, fused properly, and integrated with battery management.

System monitors

Victron, REDARC, BMPRO, EnerDrive โ€” installation and configuration of battery monitors and system displays.

DC-DC chargers

Tow vehicle to caravan charge systems. Properly sized, fused, and integrated with solar so all charge sources work together.

Starlink setup

Permanent Starlink installations on caravans โ€” mounting, power supply, cable routing, and remote-on switching.

LED & lighting

LED conversions, awning lights, strip lighting, dimmer installs, exterior camp lights โ€” proper switching and circuit protection.

Compliance & testing

All work tested and verified. Where electrical certification is required (e.g. for insurance), full documentation provided.

Honest sizing advice

The system you need โ€” not the system someone wants to sell you.

The biggest electrical mistake we see in caravans is oversized systems sold by retailers chasing margins. A grey-nomad couple touring caravan parks doesn't need 600Ah of lithium and 1200W of solar. A weekend free-camper might genuinely need exactly that. Most installs we see have it the wrong way around.

Before quoting an upgrade, we ask how you actually camp โ€” powered sites, free camping, average run-time on appliances, peak loads. Then we size the system to that real-world use, plus reasonable headroom. Sometimes that means a smaller system than you expected. Sometimes bigger. Always: honest, with our reasoning shown.

Common questions

Electrical & solar,
explained.

Depends on how you camp. If you're on powered sites 90% of the time, your existing AGM is probably fine. If you're free camping regularly and your AGM is more than 5 years old, lithium will transform your experience โ€” usable capacity roughly doubles, charge times drop dramatically, and the batteries last 3-4x longer. We'll be honest about whether it's worth it for your specific situation.
Rule of thumb: roughly 200W of solar per 100Ah of usable battery capacity, scaled by how much you actually use. Most setups we see are oversized on solar relative to their battery bank, or undersized. We work it out from your actual loads โ€” fridge run-time, lighting hours, device charging, etc. โ€” rather than just picking a number that sounds good.
Yes. Anderson plug installations on tow vehicles, DC-DC charger placement (tow vehicle vs caravan), proper cable sizing for the run length, and integration with vehicle-side accessories like dual battery systems and brake controllers.
Yes, with care. We document the original wiring, plan the upgrade in a way that integrates with what's already there, and where possible preserve any warranty-relevant aspects of the factory install. Modifications outside warranty terms are discussed upfront.
Yes โ€” both temporary 'set up at camp' installs and permanent roof-mount installations with hardwired power. We handle the mounting, power supply (12V converter or direct), cable routing through the van, and the switching.
Yes โ€” and we see a lot of it. Other-installer faults (under-sized cable, missing fuses, incorrect MPPT configuration, BMS not communicating) are some of the most common diagnostic jobs we get. We diagnose, fix, and document โ€” no judgement, just sorted.
